To connect to a file server via OS X, simply do the following:

  1. In Finder, press Command+K or click on Go → Connect to Server...
  2. In the Connect to Server dialog box, enter the name of the server to which you wish to connect. For example, to connect to the student server, you would enter student or student.sluh.org.
  3. When prompted to log in, enter your LDAP account information and click Connect. If you are opening a server's Public share (as in this example) you may log in as Guest.
  4. Select the desired share from the list presented, and click OK.
