Printing from your device
To print to the Library and Student Help Desk printers while on campus, please follow the instructions below for the type of device that you have. (No off campus printing service available)
For iPads/iPhones:
- Make sure that you are on SLUH wifi.
- Open the app that you want to print from.
- To find the print option, tap the app’s share icon — or — or tap .
- Scroll down and tap or Print. If you can’t find the print option, check the app’s User Guide or Help section. Not all apps support AirPrint.
- Tap Select Printer and choose either LibraryPrinterRelease or StudentHelpDesk.
- Choose the number of copies or other options, like which pages you want to print.
- Tap Print in the top right-hand corner. After that, you'll be prompted for your username and password. Use your SLUH username and password (the same as for email, Canvas, etc).
For Macbooks:
- Make sure that you are on SLUH wifi.
- Navigate to System Preferences > Printers and Scanners.
- The Add dialog is displayed. It displays a list of all of the discovered printers on the network.
- Select either libraryprinterrelease or studenthelpdesk.
- At the bottom of the dialog box, make sure that Use is set to Secure AirPrint.
- Click Add
- Print your document. When prompted, enter your SLUH username and password (the same as for email, Canvas, etc).
For Chromebooks:
- Make sure that you are on SLUH wifi.
- Make sure that you are logged into your Chromebook with your SLUH username. If you are not logged in with it, the next steps will not apply.
- When you go to print, the school printers will have a PaperCut icon next to them that looks like this
- Choose which printer to print from. After that, you'll be prompted for your username and password. Use your SLUH username and password (the same as for email, Canvas, etc).
- Go to the printer and follow the instructions there to have your document print out.
For Windows Laptops:
- Make sure that you are on SLUH wifi.
- Click this link to download and run the Mobility Print installer.
- You'll be prompted to select the printers you want to use, and to enter your SLUH (Papercut) username and password (the same as for email, Canvas, etc).
- When it's time to print, just print like you normally do. Be sure to use a printer you selected when you installed Mobility Print.
